GONE4GOOD

MEET

Gone4Good is the first compostable stand-up pouch made from renewable, plant-based, non-GMO materials. Just toss it in your backyard compost pile or green bin, and it will disappear within 3-6 months. We're calling it Gone4Good because it goes back to where it came from when its useful life is over. With zero waste.

Gone4Good makes its debut in the form of Alter Eco's Heirloom Quinoa pouches. Look for them on the shelves at your local market.

Plastic packaging makes up over one sixth of the waste in United States landfills, and maybe worse, it fills the stomachs of millions of sick fish and birds when they mistake it for food floating in the ocean.

Some of this packaging could have been recycled, but much of it can't in our current materials recovery system. For example, an estimated 17 billion plastic pouches were made in 2013, and not one of them recyclable or compostable. Something needs to be done.

NO COMPOST?

If you don't have access to composting in you area, toss the pouch in your trash regular bin. Unfortunately, current industrial recycling standards don’t accommodate pouches of any kind.

BACKYARD COMPOST PILE

Just toss the pouch in your home compost bin, then stir it up and watch it go. The pouch will take 3-6 months to break down, depending on the composition and moisture in your pile, and the climate in your area.

COMMERICAL COMPOST

If you have a commercial compost program in your area, just toss your Gone4Good pouch in the green bin (food-waste compost bin), and your local waste management will take care of the rest.
